Learning should be filled with joy, productive risk, and engaging challenges. This is the space in which all learners grow academically, socially, and personally. I’ve been working in formal and informal education environments for 25 years. I’m a former ELA teacher at the secondary and postsecondary level, and I have also run postgraduate and after school programs. After teaching at the secondary level in the Twin Cities and Everett, WA, I went on to do R&D work for Renaissance Learning. After which, I felt the need to work more closely with kids again and become the k-8 Program Manager for Technology Access Foundation and an instructor in the Teacher Education Program at the UW-Seattle. From there I became part of the founding team of Educurious, a PBL curriculum and professional learning provider. Most recently, I was VP of Engagement for Teaching Channel, and after six wonderful years providing open content to the masses, I started Education Impact Exchange in order to lift teachers’ voice and know-how, honoring them and their profession.
